At long last....the 2027 SAB Explorer trip is here!
Much like Malta, when I started thinking about the 2027 Explorer trip, I knew it needed to be approachable, varied, and just different enough to make you sit up and take notice. Truthfully it took me a while to get here, not because there was a shortage of places, but the opposite: there are far too many incredible places we can travel together. In the end, I came back to an itinerary that's been bouncing around in my head for years....6 of them, in fact.
Welcome to the Ionian Sea. Corfu and Albania, to be exact.
Go google them, I'll wait.
We'll start in Corfu, in the Old Town, where we'll explore a different, lesser-visited (at least by Americans) Greek Island. We'll experience incredible food, culture, and Greek hospitality before making our way across the Ionian Sea to the Albanian Riviera.
Albania, and the Riviera in particular, is an area that's *just* starting to show up on radars. Albania opened to tourism in the 90s, so the infrastructure isn't quite fully developed. But the Riviera? That's a different story. More than just beaches (though those are amazing too), the region boasts UNESCO World Heritage sites, up-and-coming agrotourism, and a history worth exploring. And, for those who want to sunbathe? Endless possibilities.
And then, we'll come back to Corfu for one last night in Greece to wrap it all up.
Designed with a balance of shared experiences and personal freedom, this itinerary gives you the opportunity to discover two countries in your own way while enjoying the ease and camaraderie of small-group travel. As is customary with Explorer itineraries, we balance highlights with plenty of freedom. This is a moderately-paced trip; we'll move around a bit, but you'll have downtime each day to relax or explore on your own, plus two completely free days. And of course, I'll be traveling with you so you'll only be on your own if you want to be.
